Get To Know Me

My name is Shadee and I am currently attending Sheridan College. I am enrolled in the Computer System Technician Winter 2026 program. Returning to school has been an exciting adjustment. The atmosphere at Sheridan College keeps me intrigued to learn more and be active in learning new material. Computer Systems Technology has always been a keen interest of mine. I don’t know too much about this industry besides possible job opportunities, however so far, it’s been exciting diving into the educational materials. I’ve taken computer classes in high school many years ago, but I was never introduced to coding or binary. So, this has been a slight learning curve. Nonetheless, speaking with the staff from the department, has reassured that I don’t need to much background knowledge to thrive in the program.

From my point of view, I’ve always viewed technology as a form expression. Whether I am designing an accessible user interface or streamlining complex backend functions, I believe there is an artistry in clean, efficient design. I am particularly drawn to brands like Serato and Nespresso. Their ability to maintain an aesthetic while following accessibility standards from the G88 guidelines. When I am not at my computer, I am almost certainly playing guitar. Music has been a lifelong journey, and I have been fortunate enough to perform at venues throughout the GTA with my band. While our stage presence was solid, our band name needed a little bit of work. If you were wondering how cool our band name was, it was not. We performed under the literal name “Pop/Rock Ensemble.” Despite the awesome name, the experience was incredible. We played everything from timeless rock classics to 2010s pop hits and indie favorites. Performing for a live audience has always been a rewarding experience. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or have no experience at all, I’ll always encourage people to get together and connect through sound and music.

Two Worlds Collide: Music and Technology

With both my revolving around music and computer technology, I am looking forward to finding a career path in software development for music, game audio design, or technical support for studios. The music industry is growing rapidly with technology being involved. Some would say you’re typing code as a piece of art. It’s reached a point where coding isn't just about logic anymore, it’s a creative process. It would be rewarding to be the involved in building the "instruments" of the future. In software development, that means creating plugins or DAWs that feel totally natural for a musician to use. In the gaming world, I’m fascinated by how code can make audio react to a player’s every move, making a virtual world feel alive. Even in a studio setting, being a tech expert means keeping the digital backbone of a session running smoothly so the art can form. For me, a clean piece of code is just as satisfying as a perfect melody. I’m excited to dive into a career where I can use my technical skills to push the boundaries of what’s possible in sound.
